Lightning and more lightning

Last night a thunderstorm rolled over the campground and the Franconia Notch area. The rain was very heavy but my tent stays dry and cozy. A Crack of thunder right above me and thunder that rolled through the mountains caused me to read my weather app info about lightning. I decided the danger of being struck by lightning was minimal compared with the guaranteed drenching I would get if I crawled out of the tent.
This morning I read about a couple struck and killed by lightning in Washington DC yesterday as they sheltered under a tree. Truly frightening.
I don't have any storm pictures, of course so here is a photo from Ebemee Lake in Maine the morning I left.

A rare bird

I don't take very good bird photos with my phone but this one was easy. A Black Neck Stork, one of only 6 individuals in the whole count...
